Kampala, Uganda — The community mourns the passing of Bishop John Eitu, a beloved Pentecostal leader known for his deep faith and dedication to the church. After months of illness that led to his eventual transfer from Nakasero Hospital to Mulago Hospital, Bishop Eitu passed away, leaving a legacy of faith and unity.
The family has now released the tentative program for his burial, managed by A+ Funeral Services to ensure a dignified send-off for the late Bishop. Arrangements will begin on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, with a funeral service at The Life Church in Namasuba, along Entebbe Road, at 10:00 AM. After the service, the body will be transported to Soroti for a vigil at Bishop Eitu’s home in the Senior Quarters.
On Thursday, October 31, a memorial service and vigil will be held at Global Harvest Church in Soroti, giving the community an opportunity to honor the Bishop’s impact on their lives. The following day, Friday, November 1, the body will depart for his ancestral home in Otuboi, Kalaki district, where the final farewell will take place.
The burial service is set for Saturday, November 2, 2024, beginning at 10:00 AM with a church service in Otuboi, Kalaki district, marking the close of a life lived in service to the church and the community.
The family has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Ebwalu Jonathan, Hon. Isodo, and Hon. Hellen Adoa, who have physically stood by them, providing comfort and strength throughout this time. Additionally, they extended their thanks to all friends, relatives, and supporters who have been with them from the start, acknowledging their invaluable presence and encouragement. The family urged them to remain steadfast, as the journey of faith is just beginning, and their continued support is essential.
