Soroti City witnessed a momentous event as the groundbreaking ceremony for Epaku House took place, marking 70 years of academic excellence at Teso College Aloet (TCA). This significant milestone was officiated by Chemtai James, the Deputy Resident City Commissioner for Western Soroti, along with Mr. James Ebitu, the Alumni President, members of the Board of Governors, and Mzee Besweri Akabwai, the esteemed Patron.
Chemtai underscored the vital role of such infrastructure in enhancing the learning environment and fostering academic success. He called upon the community to support educational initiatives that contribute to regional growth and prosperity.
Distinguished alumni and various stakeholders attended the ceremony, celebrating Teso College Aloet’s enduring legacy and its impact on the community. Established in 1953, TCA has a rich history of nurturing future leaders and providing quality education.
Today’s festivities include performances, prayers, speeches, and exhibitions showcasing student talents. Alumni and current students are united in jubilation, reflecting on the school’s profound influence on their lives and the broader community.
TCA has proudly produced over 30,000 graduates who have excelled in diverse fields. Notable alumni include Acting Bank of Uganda Governor Michael Atingi Ego, Deputy Secretary to the Treasury Ocaailap Patrick, Deputy Leader of Government General Moses Ali, Dr. Limlim, Prof. Akileng, Dr. Opul Joseph, Dr. Benjamin Imalingat, Dr. Epodoi, Deputy CDF UPDF Okiding, and Deputy Minister of Information and National Guidance in Iteso Cultural Union, Ochoggia Abdallah Ochoggia.
This celebration not only honors TCA’s illustrious past but also ignites a commitment to future academic endeavors. It fosters a deep sense of pride among students and alumni as they look forward to another 70 years of excellence.
