Tree of Life, a U.S.-based Christian organization, in partnership with Patrick Ogwang Obura, MP aspirant for Oyam South and local leader, launched a transformative borehole water project in Obete Village, Kamdini Town Council. Ogwang’s advocacy secured this partnership, aimed at addressing chronic water scarcity.

The project involves drilling new boreholes and repairing existing ones, benefiting over 1,200 residents in the Western Ward of Kamdini Town Council. For years, these communities have relied on contaminated water sources, causing widespread waterborne diseases.

George Oyuku, LC I Chairman of Abete Cell, expressed relief, stating, “This project has brought hope to our community, who have endured years of using unsafe water.”
Constructed by Getad Engineering Services with support from Tree of Life, the project will enhance public health and hygiene.

Chris Knippa, President of Tree of Life USA, announced plans to expand the initiative with over 75 more boreholes across districts including Oyam, Nwoya, Abim, and Kotido, commending Ogwang’s dedication to empowering the community.
