The Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) has issued a directive to all schools in the country to display the registers of candidates scheduled to sit for the end-of-cycle examinations this year
In a statement, UNEB announced that starting from today, Monday, August 14, 2023, all schools and examination centres for the 2023 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) exams are required to display the candidates’ registers as per the circular
“The registers should be prominently displayed on the school noticeboard, allowing candidates to review and confirm their registration status and biodata,” the statement read.
UNEB emphasised that this is a legal requirement that compels examination centers to display the candidates’ lists sixty days prior to the commencement of the national examinations.
“The national examinations are scheduled to begin on October 13, 2023, with the briefing of UCE candidates,” it stated.
Heads of centres are also advised to provide copies of the candidates’ registers to the District Education Offices for public viewing.

“If any discrepancies are found in the candidate’s biodata, Heads of Centers are required to immediately inform UNEB for correction,” the board stated.
Parents and candidates are informed about the display exercise in a timely manner to avoid any inconvenience.
The board also stressed the importance of candidates signing a parallel register to confirm their biodata and registration details.
