In a commendable move, university students in Amolatar District have initiated a campaign to raise awareness about environmental protection and promote a greener world. Led by the Amolatar District University Students Association, these enthusiastic young individuals aim to conduct outreach activities in various primary and secondary schools across the district.
The initiative seeks to educate both students and parents on the importance of environmental conservation, with a focus on bringing comfort and relief to those in medical facilities. Mr. Otim, a representative of the association, has appealed for support from well-wishers to bolster their efforts.
As part of their outreach, the team plans to plant trees during their visits to schools, laying the foundation for their environmental conservation efforts. Speaking to the media via phone, Mr. Maxwell Otim Jerome, the association’s president, confirmed the upcoming initiative.
The outreach is scheduled to commence in June 2024, starting with seven selected schools within Amolatar District. In addition to tree planting, the students will offer guidance to inspire academic excellence among their peers.
Mr. Jerome Otim, a student at Makerere University in East Africa and a native of Arwotcek village in Amolatar District, is leading the charge for this noble cause. He earnestly appeals for support from various stakeholders to expedite the program’s implementation.
