Jimmy Akena, who is headed Teso for grassroots mobilization, has put the National Resistance Movement (NRM) on notice. Akena’s mobilization efforts began in Kaberamaido District, where he addressed the people of Oriamo Trading Center.
According to Akena, his primary objective is to protect the people of Uganda, just as his father’s government did during his time in office. Akena emphasized that his father’s policy was to safeguard the interests of fishermen on the lakes, noting that the lakes belong to all Ugandans and were created by God.
Akena reiterated his commitment to fighting for change in Uganda, stating that he is prepared to bring the Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) to the people of Uganda. He urged UPC members registered in the party’s book to support and vote for the UPC candidate.
Akena assured the people of Kaberamaido that their concerns are his concerns, and he is committed to fighting against the current regime. Akena’s rally in Kaberamaido was attended by thousands and was held at Esingu Playground and Kaburepoli Primary School in Ochero County.
Akena was accompanied by UPC Secretary-General Fred Ebil Ebil, Woman MP for Dokolo Sarah Aguti Nyakori, and other aspiring candidates for the UPC ticket in 2026, as well as LCVs across Lango.
