In a significant boost to agricultural education in the Teso region, Vice President Maj Rtd Jessica Alupo Epel handed over 15 in-calf Friesian cows to three prominent schools and one family in a ceremony held at Teso College Aloet this morning.
The recipients, Teso College Aloet, Ngora High School, and St Mary’s SS Madera, each received four cows to enhance their agricultural departments. The Family of the late Rev Fr Alex Opio also received three Friesian cows to support their livelihood. These donations are part of the government’s initiative, facilitated through the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) and the National Animal Genetic Resources Centre and Data Bank (NAGRIC).
The ceremony, held at Teso College Aloet, was graced by several dignitaries, including the Minister of Information in the Iteso Cultural Union, who is also a board member of TCA. The minister expressed profound gratitude, highlighting the transformative impact of Vice President Alupo’s generosity on the schools and community.
