In her brief, she explained the society can only get civilizes when the young people bow down to the elderly and show that we appreciate them by helping and being there for them.
She stressed back to the African traditional society where the elderly people were rich sources of experience and valuable assets of the national coexistence, therefore youths should seek guidance from them.
“We owe it to these individuals for their hard work. If not (for them), we wouldn’t be here today living a better life.” she quoted.
She implored schools, teachers and parents to enrich their children with the culture of paying tribute to senior citizens for their services to the country.
Alupo eulogized the deceased as a very close friend to their family and an educationist who educated all her 13 children until they finished the education cycle without discrimination. “Our parents were close as family and as children we used to play and shared a lot together when my father was the head teacher of Aputon Primary School,” she said.
She challenged mourners to educate both girl and boy children without any discrimination against age, sex, tribe or race saying if it’s not education they wouldn’t be who they are now.
