Delegates from Terego, Arua District, Arua City, and Madi-Okolo gathered to endorse David Calvin Echodu as the NRM National Vice Chairperson Eastern Region aspirant. The Chairpersons, led by Alion Boniface, Arua District Chairman, expressed their support for Echodu.
“We urge you to stand strong for the structural members,” Alion told Echodu. “We also want to praise the late Rt. Hon. Jacob Olanya, may his soul rest in peace. He was the only uniting factor for our region. We pray that you emulate his leadership style, which brought people together and fostered unity.”
David Agwara, NRM District Chairman Madi-Okolo, Amanguru Joice, NRM Chair for Arua City, and Alfadeo James, District General Secretary and Chairman Terego, were among the leaders who endorsed Echodu.
The delegates highlighted the problems faced by Arua and the need for change. “The incumbent CEC members have left and forgotten the people ever since they were voted,” they said. “We promise to clear all the old CEC members and give you new energy.”
Ms. Sarah Onyeru, former CAO and aspirant for Woman MP Terego, profiled Echodu, saying, “Calvin is the person the President has been waiting for. Born in 1973 in Soroti, Calvin is known for his love for communities. Through his NGO, he has sponsored over 150,000 students in Teso and Lango. If put to power, he will also help more in the West Nile subregion. He has also partnered government in the fight against malaria through giving out mosquito nets and spraying of houses in Teso, Karamoja, and some parts of Lango.”
Ambassador Nelson Ocheger praised Echodu for his actions, saying, “Calvin has supported the President and the NRM party . He is an action man, and his actions speak louder than words.”
Echodu addressed the delegates, outlining his intentions. “I promise to bring new energy to the party through grassroot empowerment,” he said. “I will work with the grass roots, ensure inclusivity, and establish Saccos to empower our party structures. We will also conduct cadre identification, training, and recruitment to strengthen our party’s base. This will enable us to build a strong and vibrant party that can deliver results for the people.”
The RDC, who was also a former RDC for Soroti District, blessed Echodu for the position, saying, “Calvin worked with me, and he is now like a brother to me. I believe he has the vision and leadership skills to take the party to the next level.”
The delegates were impressed by Echodu’s agenda and unanimously endorsed him for the position of NRM National Vice Chairperson Eastern Region.
