Oyam District, Uganda – World Vision Uganda has officially commenced the construction of two blocks of four-unit staff houses at Acimi Health Centre III in Myene Sub-County, Oyam South Constituency. The project, funded by Blue Mountains Australia, aims to enhance service delivery at the facility.
The construction of the staff houses is a response to the long-standing accommodation challenges faced by health workers at the facility. The funding of over 700 million shillings was secured by World Vision Uganda through the support of Blue Mountains Australia. Mr. Riedly and Mieke Bell from Blue Mountain Australia described the initiative as a way to give back to the community that played a significant role in their family’s lives.
Mieke Bell urged individuals in privileged positions to consider how they could contribute to community development, encouraging those with the means to invest in improving the lives of others and advancing the country’s progress.
