Mali’s army has seized Kidal, a key town in the country’s North that the ethnic Tuareg rebels have held for nearly a decade. Kidal has been a bastion for the Tuareg, one of the rebel groups at the centre of the country’s long-running political and security crises. The administration of Makerere University has evicted all the smaller businesses operating inside the university premises with a reason that they are a security threat to the University. The business owners who were recently evicted from operating inside Makerere University have called on the University’s administration to rescind its decision, saying the eviction is illegal. The General Court Martial has sentenced two UPDF commanders to dismissal with disgrace from the army for running away from their troops as Al Shabaab attack their base in Somalia in May. Al Shabaab fighters on May , 25 attacked a the base belonging to the UPDF  African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) in Bulamarer, 130km (80 miles) Southwest of Mogadishu.
